Bhopal, Sep 11 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to disburse funds on Thursday as part of the free scooty distribution initiative aimed at recognizing the achievements of 7,832 students who have excelled in Class 12 at government higher secondary schools throughout the state.
During the event, Chief Minister Yadav will also transfer Rs 61 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of 20,37,439 girls from Class 7 to 12 under the Sanitation and Hygiene Scheme of Samagra Shiksha.
The ceremony will take place at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal, starting at 11 a.m.
Key officials including the State School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Tribal Affairs Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, and others will join the Chief Minister for this significant occasion.
The free e-scooty program has been in effect in Madhya Pradesh since the academic year 2022–23.
Eligibility for this scheme includes students who have attended government higher secondary schools managed by the School Education Department or the Tribal Affairs Department, achieving the top rank in their Class 12 Board examination across all faculties.
Students from girls-only and boys-only institutions who are toppers will also qualify.
In co-educational schools, both the top male and female students (two per institution) will be eligible. For the academic year 2024–25, a total of 7,832 top students will receive funds for their e-scooties.
The Chief Minister will additionally transfer Rs 7 crore in stipend funds to the accounts of 20,100 girls. Under the Kasturba Gandhi Girls' School Type-IV Scheme, girls in hostels are allocated Rs 3,400 annually per student for Teaching-Learning Material (TLM) and stipends.
Earlier in July, the state government allocated Rs 239 crore to provide laptops for over 94,000 meritorious students.
Each qualifying student (who scored above 75 percent in Class 12) received Rs 25,000 directly in their bank accounts to facilitate the purchase of a laptop.
