Hyderabad, May 16 (NationPress) The working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. T. Rama Rao, asserted on Friday that the Congress has established a ‘commission sarkaar’ in Telangana.
Following remarks from Forest and Endowment Minister Konda Surekha, who stated that ministers require payments to process files, KTR took to X to criticize the state government.
“Kudos to Minister Konda Surekha for finally revealing some truths! The Congress-led government in Telangana operates a 'commission sarkaar', and it’s regrettable that this has become an open secret in the state,” KTR, widely known as the former minister, posted.
“In this government, which demands a 30 percent commission, ministers, as noted by their own colleague, are reluctant to sign files without a substantial cut. Contractors even staged a dharna inside the secretariat to expose the government's commission dealings,” he commented.
KTR urged Konda Surekha to publicly identify all Congress ministers implicated in this scandal. “Can Revanth Reddy or Rahul Gandhi initiate an investigation into these serious allegations made by their own cabinet minister?” he questioned.
BRS legislator K.P. Vivekanand noted that the 'Telangana Premier League' is being conducted under the Congress regime with rampant corruption and commissions.
In response to Konda Surekha’s statement, BRS indicated that she acknowledged the necessity of bribery for file clearance during Congress governance.
At the foundation-laying ceremony for a government girls’ junior college in Warangal on Thursday, she remarked, “As the Forest Minister, I am approached by companies for file clearances. Typically, ministers demand money to expedite these processes. I inform them that they need not pay me but should engage in social service, such as constructing a school.”
She also disclosed that a company willing to undertake the college building project, which would cost Rs 4.5 crore, had approached her for file approval.
On Friday, Konda Surekha contended that her comments were misrepresented, clarifying that she was referring to ministers from the previous BRS administration who would take bribes for any work.
