New Delhi, Sep 16 (NationPress) Congress MP Praniti Shinde fiercely criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Maharashtra government, declaring the PM's birthday a 'black day' for the opposition. During a press interaction in Solapur, her Lok Sabha constituency, after her meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Shinde accused the nation of experiencing an 'undeclared Emergency', where dissenting voices are being suppressed.
She stated, 'The Opposition is being silenced, votes are being manipulated, and press freedoms are eroding. The media has transformed into 'Godi Media'. Farmers are protesting in the streets, yet their concerns remain unheard.'
Shinde emphasized the damage inflicted by recent heavy rainfall in Solapur district and urged for swift compensation for farmers. 'Soybean and other crops have suffered immensely. The government must act promptly to provide relief.'
She also accused the Solapur Municipal Corporation of corruption and failure in drainage management. 'Crores of rupees were allocated, yet flooding has impacted homes. The municipal elections have been delayed for four years. This is an assault on democracy,' she asserted.
Commenting on the recent India-Pakistan cricket match, Shinde expressed concern over playing during Operation Sindoor, stating it sends an inappropriate message. 'On one hand, we engage in conflict with Pakistan, while on the other hand, we participate in cricket matches with them. Our players faced pressure not to engage with Pakistani cricketers—why proceed with the match? This undermines our Armed Forces’ morale.' She blamed the BCCI for prioritizing profits.
Shinde further condemned the government regarding the Special Intensive Revision exercise (SIR) of the voter list, accusing it of attempting to distort the electoral process. 'Vote manipulation is occurring nationwide. In Bihar, we called for a discussion in Parliament, but the government evaded it. The system has crumbled.'
