Patna, Oct 13 (NationPress) Jan Suraaj Party Spokesperson Pawan K. Varma stated on Monday that the Congress has notably weakened under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the party's organisational presence in Bihar has entirely disappeared.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Varma commented, "Currently, Rahul Gandhi serves as the Leader of the Opposition at the national level. I contend that the Congress was previously a formidable party -- I emphasize 'was' -- as it has now contracted. The essence of Congress remains relevant today; however, under his leadership, the party has been perpetually declining at the organisational level, which is genuinely regrettable."
Criticising Rahul Gandhi's political methods, the Jan Suraaj leader expressed, "He is like a seasonal bird. The core issue is that the Congress party's organisational strength on the ground in Bihar has completely eroded. His aspirations outstrip the party's current reality, which will ultimately harm the Mahagathbandhan itself."
Focusing on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Varma accused it of being a family-centric party.
He stated, "The discussion surrounding M-Y, representing Muslim-Yadav unity, is merely a facade. Tejashwi Yadav is the Chief Ministerial candidate solely due to being Lalu Prasad Yadav's son. He shows no genuine concern for either the Yadavs or the Muslims. His brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, whose mental stability has been questioned, also ascended to the Ministerial position merely because he is Lalu Yadav's son."
Clarifying Jan Suraaj's stance before the Bihar elections, Varma asserted, "We have unequivocally stated that we will not form alliances with any party, neither before nor after the elections. Jan Suraaj is committed to contesting all 243 seats independently."
Commenting on the newly announced NDA seat-sharing alliance, he remarked, "These alliances are motivated by a lust for power. They have managed to strike a deal, but the people of Bihar can clearly perceive that this is a struggle for power."
