Shimla, July 1 (NationPress) In a pointed critique of the Congress leadership, Union Minister Jitendra Singh remarked on Tuesday that the party makes critical decisions regarding the appointment of national and state presidents at kitchen and dining tables.
“Congress leaders seem oblivious to the essence of democracy. In the BJP, the president is chosen through a democratic process. In Congress, it’s merely the mother-son duo's decision that matters. In contrast, the BJP keeps everyone guessing about the next president until the very last moment. Even a grassroots worker can rise to the position of president, which is unthinkable in Congress,” he stated while announcing Rajiv Bindal as the upcoming state President in Himachal Pradesh.
More than 1,000 BJP supporters gathered for the event, where Union Minister Jitendra Singh presented Bindal with a certificate and a BJP flag. The party’s leadership celebrated this announcement by raising a large BJP flag on stage, while the auditorium resonated with chants of ‘Bharatiya Janata Party Zindabad’, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, and ‘Bindal-ji Aage Badho’.
During his speech, Union Minister Jitendra Singh remarked, “I am returning your President to you by being present in Himachal. It’s a rare occurrence for a President to lead for the third time, indicating that Dr. Rajiv Bindal possesses the qualities that strengthen the party at the grassroots level.” He noted that after the efforts of three generations, “the BJP has emerged as the world’s largest political organization. Hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, an area where BJP was not traditionally strong, many dedicated workers joined our ranks to elevate the party to prominence.”
He added, “While Congress leaders seek refuge in other parties when they are out of power, BJP leaders dedicate 50-60 years to the party even in challenging times. We are fortunate to be part of this transformative era of the BJP.”
The Union Minister also highlighted that state Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, along with all MPs including former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, Suresh Kashyap, Kangana Ranaut, Rajiv Bhardwaj, Indu Goswami, Sikandar Kumar, and Harsh Mahajan, have been appointed as ex-officio members of the party’s national council.
