New Delhi, Aug 20 (NationPress) In a shocking development regarding the assault on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged on Wednesday that the assailant Rajesh Khimji Sakriya has connections with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
BJP MLA Harish Khurana took to X to share an image of Sakriya alongside AAP’s Gujarat MLA Gopal Italia. He insinuated that the assault on Delhi CM during her 'Jan Sunwaai' session at her residence was orchestrated by the AAP.
By posting the photograph of the attacker with Gopal Italia, the AAP MLA from Visavadar Assembly, Khurana suggested that this image is quite revealing regarding the alleged ‘conspiracy’, and mockingly questioned, “Kejriwal ji, how would you define this relationship?”
In response to claims by AAP MLA Anil Jha, who dismissed the incident as a mere ‘drama staged for publicity’, Khurana firmly countered that all political factions have denounced the attack on the Chief Minister. He challenged, “While you condemn the attack, an AAP MLA describes it as a farce. Is this the official stance of your party? You should be embarrassed.”
The attack on Delhi CM Rekha Gupta this morning has sparked widespread political outrage, with leaders across various parties condemning the act.
Top AAP figures, including Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi, have also criticized the incident, while BJP representatives labeled it as a conspiracy.
Delhi minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa remarked that the Chief Minister's achievements irk her opponents, suggesting that the attack was politically motivated.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has charged Rajesh Bhai Khimji, a resident of Rajkot, with an attempt to murder following the attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at her official residence in Civil Lines.
