New Delhi, Aug 21 (NationPress) Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakariya, who assaulted Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the Jan Sunvai event on Wednesday, is set to be presented at the Tis Hazari Court in the national capital today, according to police reports.
The Delhi Police registered an attempt to murder case against the 41-year-old Rajesh following the incident.
Authorities are expected to request a 5 to 7-day remand for the accused to investigate the underlying motives for the attack.
In relation to the assault on the Chief Minister, a case under Section 109(1)/132/221 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been filed at PS Civil Lines. The accused is currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing. The police are exploring all potential angles in this case.
