During her weekly 'Jan Sunvai' at her official residence in Civil Lines, Chief Minister Gupta faced an attack. The police responded promptly by apprehending the perpetrator, who is currently undergoing interrogation. The motives behind this assault remain uncertain.
As reported by sources to IANS, an individual unexpectedly emerged during the public hearing and launched a heavy object towards the Chief Minister. Official updates are still pending.
Several Delhi Ministers suggested that a political conspiracy might be at play.
Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa vehemently criticized the assault, stating, "The CM dedicates herself to the welfare of Delhi's residents, and this is merely an orchestrated move by the opposition. They cannot stand the sight of a Chief Minister engaging with the public without barriers."

Minister Kapil Sharma also took to X to denounce the attack, hinting at a political plot.
"The attempt to harm Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ji during a public engagement is a cowardly act. Those threatened by the Ayushman Card, Devi buses, enhanced sewage systems, and the cleaning of the Yamuna are resorting to such deplorable tactics," stated Sharma.
"The resolute government chosen by the people's mandate will neither yield nor cease its efforts for Delhi's progress," he emphasized.
Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, also condemned this attack.
On X, she remarked, "The assault on Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is utterly condemnable. In a democratic society, there is room for differing opinions and protests, but violence has no place."
"I trust that the Delhi Police will take the strictest measures against those responsible. I hope for the Chief Minister's complete safety," she added.
Currently, the Chief Minister is under medical observation to assess the extent of her injuries, as per sources.
In response to the attack, security measures at the Chief Minister's residence have been bolstered.
Senior officials from the Delhi Police are on-site, and an investigation is actively underway at the Civil Lines police station.
