New Delhi, March 31 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, refuted the speculation regarding the 'Saheli Pink Card' initiative, confirming that the program designed for women travelers is operating at 100% effectiveness with no concerns.
In a statement shared on X, the Chief Minister criticized her political rivals, suggesting they are threatened by efforts to empower women. “They are uneasy with girls cycling—how could the ‘Saheli Pink Card’ possibly resonate with them?” she remarked, directing her comments at the AAP.
Gupta emphasized that the Pink Saheli Card system is running seamlessly and continues to support women throughout the national capital. “The Pink Saheli Card functions flawlessly. It provides free rides. Just tap and travel without stress,” she stated in her message.
In a video accompanying her declaration, the Chief Minister addressed what she referred to as “misleading propaganda” about the program. She asserted that certain political factions are intentionally spreading rumors to confuse women who use the card.
“Some individuals with political agendas are trying to propagate falsehoods about the ‘Pink Card’ for Delhi's women—claiming that you cannot tap it again after taking one bus and switching to another. This is completely untrue,” Gupta stated.
She reassured riders that the card is fully operational for multiple trips without any limitations as claimed. “Your cards are functioning at 100% capacity. You can travel without any worries,” she added.
Highlighting the purpose of the initiative, Gupta remarked that the advantages are directly benefiting women and are not being misappropriated for personal gain. “The Pink Card ensures that travel benefits are not diverted to private individuals, which is upsetting certain parties,” she indicated, alluding to alleged self-interested opposition to the program.
The Chief Minister also urged women to disregard misinformation and encouraged them to take advantage of the scheme confidently. She noted that acquiring the Pink Saheli Card is a simple and accessible process.
The Saheli Pink Card initiative aims to provide free and safe public transportation for women in Delhi, positioned as a crucial welfare program focusing on mobility and empowerment.
