Delhi Elections: Congress Promises Rs 8,500 Monthly Support for Unemployed Youth

New Delhi, Jan 12 (NationPress) The Delhi Congress has announced its commitment to provide a monthly stipend of Rs 8,500 to educated, unemployed youth for a duration of one year, contingent on their victory in the February 5 Assembly elections.
This initiative, known as the 'Yuva Udan Yojana', aims to attract educated, jobless youth and was unveiled a day prior to a significant rally led by the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, in Seelampur, East Delhi, scheduled for Monday.
Former Union Minister Sachin Pilot and President of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, Devender Yadav, emphasized the party's dedication to addressing the issues plaguing the city, which they describe as suffering from “breathlessness, lawlessness, and joblessness”.
According to Pilot, “The Central and Delhi governments have neglected the plight of educated and unemployed youth. The administrations of Rajivji and Manmohan Singh initiated the IT revolution and economic reforms that generated employment opportunities for young individuals.”
He further stated, “Rahul Gandhiji and Khargeji are both committed to backing educated, unemployed youth. We guarantee Rs 8,500 monthly for a year, alongside efforts to integrate them into companies where we will provide training.”
He asserted, “In Delhi, we are currently witnessing a political landscape dominated by media manipulation, personal conflicts, and blame games. The Congress offers the only viable path towards constructive politics and developmental issues.”
Pilot mentioned that the Congress is contesting the Assembly elections with the intention of winning, not merely to participate.
He added, “Should the public lend their support to the Congress, we will prioritize educated, unemployed youth and judiciously utilize government funds to alleviate their frustration.”
Yadav elaborated that the Rs 8,500 monthly financial aid for unemployed youth would be funded by the state government for one year, while also striving to match them with jobs based on their skills.
He stated, “We will also assist unemployed youth in enhancing their skills and pursuing self-employment opportunities.”
For the last decade under the rule of AAP, Delhi has regressed from a world-class capital to a city grappling with “breathlessness, lawlessness, and joblessness.”
NSUI President Varun Chaudhary, who is being portrayed as a youth icon, was also present at the gathering.
