New Delhi, April 22 (NationPress) The Delhi government announced plans to enhance security through the installation of CCTV cameras, improve street lighting, and build community centers and libraries in SC/ST/OBC settlements, as stated by an official.
Minister of Social Welfare, SC/ST/OBC Welfare, Ravinder Indraj Singh, emphasized, “The Government is dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities. Elevating the living standards for residents in these areas is our utmost priority.”
Singh instructed departmental officials to promptly implement all welfare initiatives aimed at SC/ST/OBC communities, ensuring that the benefits reach the most deserving individuals.
During a meeting led by the Minister, officials pointed out the deficiencies in basic amenities within these settlements and presented comprehensive proposals for the overall development of the residents.
The Minister emphasized that improvement initiatives in SC/ST/OBC settlements should be prioritized, responding to requests from local legislators, residents, or their representative bodies.
The proposed initiatives involve the construction and renovation of public community bathhouses and toilets, paving or repairing unpaved streets, and laying cement-concrete flooring for access roads.
Additionally, public parks will be created in these areas, complete with seating benches. Plans are also in place for building sports complexes for youth and children, aimed at providing them with sports and health facilities, according to an official.
To bolster security infrastructure in the settlements, the installation of CCTV cameras will be carried out to improve the safety of SC/ST/OBC communities.
