Mumbai, June 9 (NationPress) The creators of the thrilling new film “Detective Sherdil” debuted the trailer on Monday morning. Lead actor Diljit Dosanjh shared that he has approached the character's quirks and attitude in a unique way for this project.

This murder mystery features Diljit as a brilliant investigator unraveling the case of a flamboyant billionaire who is found brutally murdered in Budapest. Initially perceived as a hate crime, the plot quickly evolves into something far more intricate.

The trailer introduces Detective Sherdil, an unconventional and astute sleuth, alongside Natasha, a composed and intelligent investigator. Together, they delve into a complex web of family secrets, betrayals, and multi-million-dollar motives, making the case increasingly convoluted and unexpected.

The film also includes performances from Diana Penty, Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, Chunky Panday, Sumeet Vyas, Banita Sandhu, and Kashmira Irani.

Diljit remarked, “Playing Detective Sherdil has been a fantastic experience for me. I’ve put a unique spin on the character’s quirks and attitude. I hope the audience enjoys both the character and the film.”

Actress Diana Penty described her role as Natasha as one of the most grounded she has ever portrayed. She said, “She’s logical, structured, and precise, so navigating the chaos of this case was incredibly enjoyable. The tone of Detective Sherdil is clever, edgy, and unpredictable. Collaborating with Ravi Chhabriya was a special experience; he is clear, cooperative, and allows actors to truly inhabit their characters.”

Boman Irani, who plays the billionaire Pankaj Bhatti, noted that his character commands attention, even in his absence. “He has built an empire, yet it’s his inner struggles and unexpressed regrets that render him truly captivating. Detective Sherdil is a riveting tale of control, power, and secrets, and that complexity is what drew me to the role,” he added.

Produced by AAZ Films and Offside Entertainment, and presented by Maurya Entertainment Production, the film is directed by Ravi Chhabriya.

Chhabriya shared, “The trailer is merely a glimpse; a lot more madness awaits! It has been an exhilarating journey, and having Diljit Paaji on board was a true game-changer.” He expressed that from the outset, he needed a detective who could embody charm, wit, and a hint of swagger.

Actor Chunky Panday explained, “Bodhi Mama stands out from the Bhatti family—he’s not driven by the pursuit of wealth, lives by his own guidelines, and yet plays a crucial role in the broader mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed portraying him because there’s more to him than meets the eye.”

He added that “Detective Sherdil” is filled with unexpected twists and humor, and the diverse cast created a vibrant atmosphere on set.

Banita Sandhu mentioned that her character Shanti presented new and unexpected challenges. “This role demanded both vulnerability and strength. She’s the youngest in the family but possesses a remarkable resilience. Although she is deaf, she observes everything and is incredibly astute. Detective Sherdil is rich with secrets, tension, and emotional depth.”
