Jaishankar holds wide-ranging talks in Suriname to deepen bilateral ties
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday, 7 May arrived in Paramaribo for a high-level visit to Suriname, holding a series of meetings with the South American nation's top leadership to strengthen bilateral relations across trade, defence, energy, and culture. The visit marks a significant diplomatic outreach by New Delhi to the Caribbean coast of South America, home to one of the world's largest communities of Indian-origin diaspora.
Bilateral Talks and Joint Commission Meeting
Upon landing in Paramaribo, Jaishankar was received by his Surinamese counterpart, Foreign Minister Melvin Bouva.
