Motihari, Oct 1 (NationPress) In an ongoing commitment to advance women's empowerment, both the Central and Bihar State Governments are launching innovative initiatives. Today marked the inauguration of a specialized Women’s City Post Office in Motihari, making it the third establishment of its kind in Bihar.
The ceremonial opening was officiated by BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh, local MLA Pramod Kumar, and Post Superintendent Ashutosh Aditya, who lit a ceremonial lamp to commemorate the occasion.
On the same day, two new post office branches were also inaugurated in Motihari by MP Radha Mohan Singh.
During the event, speakers emphasized the modernization of post offices under the Central Government's initiatives, which now include integrated banking services.
They stressed that this dedicated sub-post office for women was established with their specific needs in mind, ensuring significant advantages for them.
BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh remarked, “Today, we are privileged to witness the launch of Bihar’s third Women’s City Post Office. Empowerment transcends the provision of rights; it is about creating opportunities. I extend my congratulations to everyone involved. This initiative will genuinely empower women.”
Postmaster Ashutosh Aditya noted, “This post office will be staffed entirely by women, which will undoubtedly benefit many, particularly women in the community.”
The Central Government continues to roll out a variety of programs aimed at empowering women across multiple sectors. Key initiatives include the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (providing LPG connections), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (protecting and educating the girl child), Mahila Samridhi Yojana (supporting women entrepreneurs), One Stop Centres and Women Helpline (supporting victims of violence), and the National Creche Scheme (childcare for working mothers).
Women's empowerment is vital for achieving sustainable development, enhancing health and nutrition, fostering economic growth, and creating a more equitable society. Schemes such as PMAY, BBBP, and the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate work to ensure that women have access to education, financial independence, social security, and protection from violence and discrimination.
