Tumakuru, March 15 (NationPress) Five individuals were apprehended on Saturday for throwing stones at the girls' restroom of a government school in Karnataka and for assaulting a schoolboy who challenged their behavior.
The suspects have been named as Mehboob Sharif, Shamshuddin, Irfan, Mubaraq, Muddassir, Yasin, and Tazim, all hailing from Huliyar city.

As per police reports, the incident took place at the Government School located in Huliyar town, within the Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumakuru district on Friday.
Yashwanth, a student at the school, witnessed the group throwing stones at the girls' restroom and confronted them, urging them to cease their actions.
Infuriated by his intervention, the group pursued him onto the school grounds and violently attacked him with sticks.
The head teacher and other school staff quickly arrived at the scene to rescue the boy from the aggressors. As teachers and fellow students gathered, the assailants escaped.
The student suffered injuries to his back and head and was taken to the government hospital in Chikkanayakanahalli town.
The school authorities filed a complaint with the Huliyar police station regarding the attack on the student and the stone-pelting incident at the girls' restroom.
It is noteworthy that Tumakuru is the hometown of Home Minister G. Parameshwara.
The BJP has consistently accused the Congress-led Karnataka government of practicing appeasement politics, arguing that “miscreants from the minority community have no apprehension of the law in the state”.
Former CM and BJP MLA Basavaraja Bommai, while condemning the murder of a nurse in Haveri district, asserted that the 'love jihad' network is actively operating within the state, and the increasing frequency of such incidents is due to the “lack of fear” among criminals.
CM Bommai stated: “The rise in such crimes is attributed to the absence of fear among offenders and emphasized that only stringent punishment for the guilty can mitigate such occurrences.”
