Ghazipur, April 10 (NationPress) - In a tragic incident, two lives were lost and approximately 35 individuals sustained injuries when a bus transporting pilgrims from Maharashtra overturned close to Naisara village in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur district. On Friday, Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, assessed the situation and instructed officials to guarantee adequate medical care for those injured.

Officials reported that the accident took place on Thursday. Gopal Dike, the Assistant Private Secretary to the Union Minister, informed IANS that a call was received from a person whose father was among the passengers on the bus, urgently requesting hospital admission and treatment.

Upon learning about the mishap, Prataprao Jadhav quickly reached out to the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and health officials, directing them to ensure immediate and sufficient medical assistance. The incident occurred on the Gorakhpur-Varanasi highway, near Naisara village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Nandganj police station. The bus, which was bound for Varanasi, lost control and overturned. Authorities confirmed that two women, Annapurna (50) from Akola and Saraswati (70) from Buldhana, tragically lost their lives in this accident.

All injured individuals have been admitted to the Ghazipur Medical College and Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. The condition of three passengers remains critical, and a team of specialized doctors has been assigned for their care.

Reports indicate that a group of 48 pilgrims from Maharashtra was undertaking a religious journey. After visiting Ayodhya and Nepal, they were heading to Kashi Vishwanath Dham when the unfortunate incident occurred.
