Jaipur, March 31 (NationPress) Dr. Girija Vyas, a former Union Minister and prominent Congress figure, suffered burn injuries while conducting Aarti at her home during the Gangaur Puja on Monday. Family members revealed that her dupatta ignited during the ritual. Initially, she was rushed to a private hospital in Udaipur and subsequently referred to Ahmedabad for more comprehensive treatment.

Her brother, Gopal Sharma, mentioned that he was at the farmhouse when he learned of the unfortunate incident.

Upon returning home, he discovered that Vyas was engaged in Gangaur Puja when her dupatta caught fire from the lamp.
