Ahmedabad, Dec 4 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, Harsh Sanghavi, officially opened the newly built Multi-Purpose Indoor Hall located within the District Sports Complex in Palanpur, Banaskantha.

During the inauguration, the Deputy Chief Minister took the opportunity to inspect a variety of sports amenities and even engaged in a game of badminton, providing motivation to the young athletes training at the facility.

The state government has invested in this state-of-the-art indoor sports center to ensure that athletes from Banaskantha, who have consistently represented both Gujarat and India in various competitions, can receive professional training without needing to travel far.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 9.20 crore, the air-conditioned indoor hall features cutting-edge facilities for a multitude of sports, including badminton, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, judo, a fully equipped gym, a shooting range, and designated areas for board games.

Moreover, the complex is equipped with essential amenities such as toilet blocks, locker rooms, a first-aid facility, staff rooms, storage spaces, a fire safety system, and CCTV surveillance, ensuring a safe and comprehensive environment for athletes.

Besides the indoor facilities, the District Sports Complex boasts several outdoor amenities: a 200-meter athletics track, a well-maintained football ground, basketball and volleyball courts, and dedicated kabaddi and kho-kho grounds.

Additional infrastructure includes an administrative block, a security cabin, an electrical room, and parking facilities. The launch of the Multi-Purpose Indoor Hall is anticipated to significantly improve the sports infrastructure in Banaskantha, providing the district’s youth with enhanced access to modern training environments.

Officials are optimistic that these upgraded facilities will fine-tune the skills of emerging athletes, paving the way for future sporting excellence.

Banaskantha is increasingly recognized as one of Gujarat’s rapidly developing districts, excelling economically, agriculturally, and now in sports infrastructure.

The district is well-known for its leadership in dairy production, horticulture, and the adoption of micro-irrigation practices, making it a vital contributor to the state's rural economy.

With numerous young athletes representing Gujarat and India in various competitions, Banaskantha has steadily earned a reputation for sporting talent.

The inauguration of this world-class multi-purpose indoor sports facility not only bolsters the district’s standing but also provides local youth with opportunities for professional training, reducing the need for migration for sports coaching, and creating new prospects for excellence at both state and national levels.
