Gurugram, April 11 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Friday that a Global City is set to be established in Gurugram following international standards, marking a pivotal milestone in the state's growth trajectory.

The Chief Minister led a meeting with investors at the site of the Global City project in Gurugram. Present at the meeting were Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, along with MLAs Bimla Chaudhary, Tejpal Tanwar, and Mukesh Sharma.

This ambitious project, involving an investment exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore, is anticipated to positively impact around 16 lakh people. Upon completion, it will create approximately five lakh job opportunities.

The development will span 1,000 acres and will feature mixed-use land, designating specific areas for residential, commercial, hospitality, and educational institutions.

He further detailed that the first phase of the project, being developed in alignment with global benchmarks, is set to finish by the end of next year, with an expenditure of Rs 940 crore allocated for 587 acres.

To ensure consistent water supply for the city, a Mass Balancing Reservoir with a capacity of 350 million litres will be established over 18 acres. This reservoir will not only function as a major water storage unit but will also enhance the city's aesthetic appeal, providing a seven-day backup water supply for the Global City. Additionally, a 10.7 km utility tunnel will be included in the Global City, equipped for water pipeline, electric cable, fire services, lighting systems, ventilation, fire detection, and earthing systems.

CM Saini emphasized that environmental sustainability is crucial for the project. A green zone covering 125 acres is planned to help maintain a lower temperature in Global City compared to Gurugram. Regarding connectivity, he noted that Global City will be located just 30 minutes from Delhi International Airport, 20 minutes from the railway station/ICD, and merely 10 minutes from the heliport and Multimodal Transit Hub. It will also enjoy excellent access to National Highway 48 via NPR, SPR, and CPR.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister engaged with representatives from 14 leading private firms, including Macrotech (Lodha), DLF, Adani, RMZ, L&T Realty, Signature Global, Eldeco, Hero Realty, Unity Group, Bestech, Prestige Construction, JLL, CBRE, and ASF. These representatives showed strong interest in the Global City and provided valuable insights. He also directed the appropriate officials to act on the suggestions received during the meeting.
