Gurugram: Vandals Ignite Parked Car, Causing Panic in the Neighborhood

Gurugram, Dec 16 (NationPress) A group of vandals set fire to a parked Maruti Eco vehicle near the old jail complex following a minor disagreement in an area overseen by the Shivaji Nagar police station on Monday.
No formal complaints have been lodged in relation to this incident as of yet.
In the meantime, the Gurugram Police have initiated a preliminary investigation into the occurrence.
Local residents attempted to extinguish the flames, but the car was already fully engulfed by the time they arrived. The police are actively searching for the individuals responsible for setting the vehicle on fire.
Reports indicate that a small altercation took place between two groups on Sunday night, which led to this event. Additionally, on that night, the vandals had also shattered the window of a Swift car.
According to a police officer familiar with the situation, "A group of suspects who appeared in the morning caused a significant disturbance and set the vehicle ablaze. They also vandalized a nearby Dhaba before fleeing the scene."
Following the incident, there was widespread panic in the vicinity on Monday.
"Investigation teams are currently reviewing the footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the area, which might provide insights into the identities of the individuals involved in this incident," stated Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram Police.
During the inquiry, locals disclosed that the car was set on fire due to a conflict between two groups, although they could not clarify the reason behind the altercation. They speculated that the dispute arose over food at the Dhaba on Sunday night.
On Monday morning, a police team arrived at the scene after being notified, and along with community members, they managed to extinguish the fire.
The CCTV footage from nearby squares and roundabouts will be thoroughly examined. A case will be registered based on information provided by the victim, and further investigations are ongoing.
