Gurugram, April 17 (NationPress) The Gurugram Police successfully intervened to save a young girl who was on the verge of taking her own life due to apparent personal distress, an official reported on Thursday.

The police revealed that the girl had isolated herself in a room, turning on the LPG gas cylinder and holding a lighter in her grasp.

"Upon receiving the alert, the police arrived at the scene within a mere six minutes. Officers EHC Sanjay, Constable Dinesh, and SPO Sundarlal acted decisively, breaking down the door and safely extracting the girl from the room," stated Sandeep Kumar, the spokesperson for the Gurugram Police.

The officers then summoned female police personnel to communicate with the girl regarding her issues.

She disclosed that she had locked herself in the room due to a personal problem, while living with a friend. Fortunately, her family notified the police, who reached the location just in time to prevent the tragedy.

After a conversation, the girl was brought out and received about an hour of counseling from the female officers.

The spokesperson confirmed that the girl is now doing well, with the police maintaining regular contact with her.

The incident is under investigation, and Vikas Arora, Commissioner of Police in Gurugram, has commended the police team's actions, announcing plans to award them with letters of appreciation and Rs 5,000 each.
