Muktsar, Jan 14 (NationPress) Punjab and Haryana share more than just a border; they are intertwined through culture, history, and blood relations. When Punjab was hit by a natural disaster, the people of Haryana stepped up without hesitation to offer their assistance, while the AAP government of Punjab and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seemed absent.
This assertion was made by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini during a rally at the inaugural BJP conference celebrating the Maghi festival at the sacred site of Sri Muktsar Sahib, known as the land of the 40 Muktas.
Saini criticized the AAP government for failing to deliver on promises made to farmers, noting that even after four years, farmers are still awaiting justice.
In contrast, he highlighted that the BJP’s double-engine government in Haryana is ensuring farmers receive crop procurement at minimum support price (MSP), prompt payments, compensation for crop losses, health initiatives, and social welfare advantages. CM Saini emphasized that Sikh history represents courage, sacrifice, and the pursuit of truth.
Paying tribute to the extraordinary sacrifice of the 40 Muktas, he remarked that under the guidance of Bhai Maha Singh and Mai Bhago-ji, the Muktas bravely gave their lives, achieving true liberation.
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh also honored the martyrs and accused the AAP and Congress from the revered ground of Sri Muktsar Sahib.
He stated, “This fair transcends a mere religious event; it embodies martyrdom, sacrifice, and devotion to the Guru Sahibs. Today, a calculated campaign against Sikh traditions and Guru ‘maryada’ is underway in Punjab.”
Chugh further charged former Delhi CM Kejriwal, former Delhi CM Atishi, and Punjab CM Mann with making provocative remarks and taking contentious actions regarding Guru Rehat Maryada and gurdwara affairs.
He referenced the 1984 Sikh massacre, asserting that Congress had sheltered the guilty for years, but following 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cases were reopened and actions initiated against the offenders.
State party President Sunil Jakhar stated, “The party recognizes its duty toward Punjab, and only the BJP is capable of steering the state out of its current crisis.”
He pointed out that Punjab is currently grappling with serious issues like drugs, corruption, and a declining law and order situation.
To foster social harmony and advance development, he emphasized the need for a robust and capable government like the BJP.
Jakhar mentioned several historic decisions taken by the Central government under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, such as the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor, which previous administrations had never envisioned.
