Tehran, Sep 18 (NationPress) The Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that the collaboration between sovereign nations such as Iran and Russia indicates the conclusion of a unipolar global order. Pezeshkian made this statement during a meeting with the visiting Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev in Tehran, where he underscored that countries can thrive independently of unilateral powers, according to local media reports on Thursday.
In this meeting, Pezeshkian voiced his optimism regarding the ongoing partnership between Iran and Russia and discussed the importance of accelerating the execution of their mutual agreements.
As reported by Tasnim News Agency, Pezeshkian highlighted the mutual commitment of the two nations to fulfill their agreements, particularly in the domains of transportation, energy, and power generation. He stressed the need to convert discussions from expert meetings into tangible actions, urging ministers and technical teams to strive towards achieving these objectives.
The Iranian President expressed his hope that the diplomatic interactions between Iran and Russia would lead to an enhanced development of their amicable relations. He requested Tsivilev to extend his cordial greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In reply, Tsivilev conveyed Putin's greetings and shared insights regarding his discussions with various Iranian officials to facilitate the implementation of their bilateral agreements, especially those established during the joint economic commission.
He affirmed Russia's willingness to promptly execute the bilateral agreements and added that no obstacles, pressure, or sanctions could undermine the trade and economic collaboration between the two nations.
Earlier this month, President Vladimir Putin met with Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China's Tianjin.
A statement released on X by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "President Vladimir #Putin emphasized to President Dr Pezeshkian during their discussions at the SCO Summit: I want to particularly underscore the friendly nature of our relations and the truly unique character of the multifaceted ties between Russia and Iran."
