New Delhi, March 16 (NationPress) The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi has extended its heartfelt thanks to Indian citizens eager to provide humanitarian assistance to those in Iran affected by the ongoing conflict. However, the embassy has pointed out that technical issues have hindered the ability to accept donations through online banking.

In a message shared on X, the embassy expressed appreciation for “our beloved Indian brothers and sisters for their unwavering support” while recognizing the complications surrounding online fund transfers. “Due to some reported issues with transferring funds to the Embassy’s account, we want to convey our sincere gratitude to our beloved Indian brothers and sisters for their ongoing support,” the message stated.

The mission recommended that donors refrain from using GP (GPay) for the time being and instead encouraged cash contributions to be made directly at the embassy.

“Cash donations can be made directly at the Embassy,” it mentioned, expressing gratitude for the solidarity and patience demonstrated by Indian supporters. Embassy officials also indicated that they are actively working to address the online transfer challenges.

This appeal comes amidst rising tensions in West Asia, where military operations by Israel and the United States have targeted Iranian positions. Iran has retaliated with strikes across the Gulf region, directing attacks towards US and Israeli interests. As the situation escalates, the humanitarian repercussions have led citizens globally, including those in India, to look for ways to offer assistance.

The day prior to the latest advisory, the embassy had posted its bank account information online in response to numerous requests from Indian citizens keen to assist. It provided details of its State Bank of India account and asked donors to send payment confirmations via WhatsApp if they chose to go the electronic transfer route.

While the embassy continues to facilitate donations, officials emphasized that due to ongoing technical difficulties, cash contributions remain the most dependable method for supporting relief efforts for Iranians impacted by the conflict.

The embassy’s communication underscores both the willingness of Indian citizens to contribute during crises and the practical obstacles to ensuring the secure and timely provision of humanitarian aid amid banking and technological challenges.
