Srinagar, Oct 2 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, stated on Thursday that the government is dedicated to advancing the mission of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by fostering Swadeshi within local industries.
“The J&K administration is actively promoting Bapu’s vision of Swadeshi through the establishment of domestic enterprises. On this Gandhi Jayanti, I urge everyone to integrate Swadeshi into our daily lives,” he mentioned during a Gandhi Jayanti event at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
He acknowledged that Bapu envisioned a brighter future for J&K and prayed for the region to illuminate the entire nation.
He further encouraged citizens to play an active role in fostering peace, development, and self-sufficiency.
He emphasized the significance of adopting the Swadeshi philosophy to enhance self-sufficiency and stimulate economic growth in J&K.
“J&K is on the path to Atmanirbharta and Vikas. We must unite and work collaboratively to transform J&K. Gandhi aspired for peace in J&K, and now the youth must realize Gandhi’s vision of a harmonious Kashmir,” he asserted.
He noted that while the Seva Parv Swachhta Pakhwada is concluding, the commitment to cleanliness should persist year-round.
“Bapu used to say, be the change you wish to see in society. In 1921, he expressed his desire to see the nation face challenges head-on. Over the last 11 years, PM Modi has revolutionized the nation,” he claimed.
He also remarked that fifty-one crore individuals are now beneficiaries of government life insurance schemes and that India has emerged as the second-largest smartphone manufacturer.
Furthermore, he brought attention to various community initiatives across J&K, including plantation drives, environmental awareness campaigns, wall paintings, cleanliness drives, and drug de-addiction programmes.
