Jaipur, April 1 (NationPress) In a heartbreaking event, an 18-year-old JEE aspirant, Ujjwal, hailing from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has reportedly taken his own life in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Kota. He had dedicated the last two years to preparing for the JEE exam, residing in a hostel and attending various coaching sessions.
The young man allegedly chose to end his life by lying on a railway track in Kota. This incident transpired on Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m. along the Mumbai-Delhi railway corridor. Authorities were able to identify him using his ID card and mobile device.
Ujjwal was set to take his JEE Mains examination in Lucknow on April 2.
His father had plans to travel to Kota on Monday to escort him to Lucknow for the test.
However, tragedy struck before those plans could come to fruition, as he received the heart-wrenching news of his son's passing.
In an emotional statement, his father, Deepak Mishra, shared: "We have observed that students frequently endure stress but find it challenging to articulate their feelings. When I told him I was coming to pick him up, he might have felt it was easier to take this drastic action." Ujjwal's last conversation with his father took place at 11 p.m. on Saturday night.
According to his father, Ujjwal never showed any signs of distress or academic pressure.
"He was performing well academically and appeared to be managing life in Kota without issues. It’s hard to understand why he made this choice," Deepak Mishra remarked.
SI Dharm Singh of the GRP police station confirmed that no suicide note was located at the scene.
"The student's ID card enabled us to confirm his identity, after which we informed his family. The body has been handed over to his relatives following a post-mortem examination," he stated.
