Jim Rogers: Indian Government Recognizes Need for Increased Incentives and Tax Reductions

New Delhi, Nov 28 (NationPress) Esteemed international investor Jim Rogers remarked on Thursday that the administration under Prime Minister Narendra Modi comprehends the importance of granting additional incentives to the populace, establishing necessary regulations, and implementing tax reductions to realize a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by the year 2047.

In a discussion with IANS, the 82-year-old investor emphasized that a free and open market is essential for India's success.

“The current government, for the first time, recognizes the necessity of providing incentives, reducing regulations, cutting taxes, and minimizing bureaucratic hurdles,” stated Rogers.

From employment-linked incentives to affordable healthcare and production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes, the NDA government led by BLP has introduced various initiatives that have empowered millions of Indians across diverse age groups.

The Union Budget has outlined five schemes with a total expenditure of Rs 2 lakh crore aimed at creating job opportunities for the youth. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the Centre will roll out three schemes under the 'Employment Linked Incentive' as part of the Prime Minister's initiative.

PM-JAY is recognized as the world's largest health assurance program, offering extensive secondary and tertiary care hospitalization benefits of up to Rs 5 lakh per family annually. This initiative is expected to benefit nearly 55 crore individuals, representing the bottom 40 percent of the nation's population.

Since its launch in 2018, over Rs 1.1 lakh crore has been allocated for free hospitalization through the flagship PM-JAY.

Additionally, in the three weeks following its introduction at the end of October, approximately four lakh elderly women aged 70 and above have registered for the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card.

Rogers believes that there are numerous intelligent and educated individuals who require encouragement to innovate. If this is achieved, India has the potential to reclaim its status as one of the world's great nations.

“If Delhi reduces regulations, cuts bureaucratic red tape, lowers taxes, and eliminates tariffs, the nation can achieve remarkable success,” concluded Rogers.
