Jordan and Iraq Commit to Enhanced Cooperation to Tackle Regional Challenges

Amman, Dec 11 (NationPress) King Abdullah II of Jordan and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani underscored the significance of enhancing coordination between their two nations during a meeting held here on Wednesday to tackle the challenges resulting from the regional context.

In this meeting, the leaders reiterated the urgent need to make every possible effort to avert a descent into chaos and prevent the spread of conflict in the area, as stated by the Royal Hashemite Court.

Additionally, the Jordanian king reaffirmed his country's unwavering support for the Syrian people and their aspirations, emphasizing the necessity of safeguarding Syria's security and its citizens, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

He also highlighted the critical importance of amplifying international efforts to secure an immediate end to the Israeli war on Gaza and to increase humanitarian and medical assistance.

The king cautioned about the threats posed by ongoing extremist settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and the violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Concerning Lebanon, the king advocated for efforts aimed at ensuring the success of the ceasefire.

The two leaders also emphasized the profound connections between their nations and peoples, along with their commitment to enhancing collaboration in various sectors.
