Hubballi (Karnataka), April 13 (NationPress) Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, on Sunday, claimed that "fake Gandhis" collaborated to obstruct the centenary celebrations of B.R. Ambedkar's visit to Nippani town in Karnataka.

While addressing the BJP-organized 'Bheem Hejje Centenary Celebrations' event in Hubballi, Union Minister Joshi accused the Congress leadership of directing the state government to stop the events meant to honor Ambedkar.

The Union Minister demanded that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge apologize to the Dalit community for the Congress-led state government's negligence in celebrating the Bheem Hejje centenary.

He stated, "This lapse may have been due to some pressure. For that, they must seek forgiveness from the nation and assure that going forward, they will organize programs to honor Ambedkar without any shortcomings."

Joshi urged Mallikarjun Kharge to apologize on behalf of the nation for failing to respect the Constitution authored by Ambedkar and his distinguished contributions and sacrifices.

He advised that the Congress President should instruct all Congress-led governments to ensure that events related to Ambedkar are celebrated with the respect they deserve.

Taking a jab at the state government, Joshi remarked that even though Mallikarjun Kharge is the Congress President, his influence is negligible in a party dominated by "fake Gandhis".

He emphasized that the same sentiment is echoed within the state government.

Union Minister Joshi reiterated that the state must first apologize to the community for neglecting the Bheem Hejje centenary celebrations.

He asserted that it was the NDA government that developed Deeksha Bhoomi, where Ambedkar embraced Buddhism, not the Congress, which he described as being filled with fake Gandhis.

He criticized Minister Priyank Kharge for his ignorance regarding historical facts.

Joshi also condemned the Congress, stating that former Prime Ministers, late Indira Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru, declared themselves Bharat Ratna recipients but never honored Ambedkar.

He inquired, "Did the Congress leaders not feel ashamed?"

He noted that the Congress-led state government celebrated Mahatma Gandhi's centenary visit to Belagavi.

Joshi remarked, "It appeared more like a Congress party gathering funded by public money. Yet, it was commendable that they acknowledged Gandhi's visit."

However, he pointed out that the same Belagavi district, where Ambedkar had visited Nippani a century ago, saw no such commemoration due to the influence of fake Gandhian narratives, expressing his disappointment with the Congress government.
