Bengaluru, April 11 (NationPress) Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs and BJP leader Pralhad Joshi on Friday launched a fierce critique against Congress, asserting that the historic party was not only "anti-Hindu" but also opposed to Dalits.

Speaking to reporters at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, the Union Minister stated: We have organized the 'Bheem Hejje' rally today to honor 100 years since B. R. Ambedkar's visit to Nippani town in Belagavi district.

Union Minister Joshi remarked: "Even though our MLA Shashikala Jolle highlighted the significance of this centenary to the government, no program was arranged. Congress celebrated Mahatma Gandhi's visit to Belagavi, but why was there no recognition for Ambedkar's 100th anniversary?"

"If the government had planned it, we wouldn't have needed to take the initiative ourselves. This occasion illustrates our dedication," he clarified.

"Congress denied him a seat in the Constituent Assembly by surrendering Hindu-majority territories to Pakistan. They caused him to lose elections twice and blocked his inclusion in the interim government," he accused.

The Union Minister asserted that the BJP will inform the public about how former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi had "opposed reservations for Dalits".

"The Congress has insulted AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, and we will make people aware of this as well," Union Minister Joshi emphasized.

The BJP Karnataka unit announced a ceremony to lay a garland at the statue of Babasaheb in front of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, after which the rally will commence from the grounds near BIC Exhibition Centre.

On the way to Nippani, the party also intends to pay floral tributes at every statue of Ambedkar in taluk centers and villages along the route.

All party members from the BJP's SC Morcha, ST Morcha, and others are participating in the rally, culminating in a large convention in Nippani on April 15.
