Karnataka: Officer Suspended After Being Filmed in Inappropriate Encounter in Office Washroom

Tumakuru, Jan 3 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police have suspended the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) assigned to the Madhugiri subdivision after he was reportedly caught on camera in a compromising situation with a woman in the office washroom last Friday.
The Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) has officially issued suspension orders for DSP P. Ramachandrappa due to this incident.
A video depicting the officer in uniform engaging in an inappropriate encounter with the woman has gone viral on social media, prompting serious concerns across the state.
As per sources, the woman had approached the DSP regarding a land dispute complaint in Madhugiri town.
The victim, hailing from Pavagada town, reportedly faced coercion from the DSP, who allegedly abused his position to manipulate her into a compromising act.
It is said that the police officer took the woman, who had come to file a complaint, into his office washroom to engage in this behavior.
There are suspicions that a relative of the woman, who was present during the incident, secretly filmed the encounter and shared the video online.
The 35-second video showed the officer in uniform and the woman noticing a mobile phone recording through the window.
The footage illustrated a compromising act involving the senior police officer while in uniform.
The video captured the woman realizing that a mobile phone was recording them from the window.
This incident has sparked additional concerns, especially since Madhugiri town is located within Tumakuru district, which is the home region of State Home Minister G. Parameshwara.
Following the video's circulation, the DSP has reportedly gone into hiding.
However, the Police Department has not yet released an official statement regarding the matter.
It remains unclear whether the woman has lodged a formal complaint against the DSP.
The police are currently awaiting directives from higher officials to determine the next steps in relation to this incident.
Sources also indicated that the DSP had previously engaged in obscene behavior with the woman during her visits to his office regarding the case.
"Unable to tolerate the exploitation, a relative of the woman decided to film the incident this time," sources revealed.
Police sources mentioned that during questioning, the woman stated she was merely seeking blessings from the DSP and not participating in the compromising act as depicted in the video.
