Jammu, Nov 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, stated on Thursday that not every individual from Kashmir should be labeled a terrorist, emphasizing that viewing every resident of J&K with skepticism hinders people from choosing the correct path.
In his initial response to the Delhi terror incident, he remarked, “No amount of condemnation for this occurrence is sufficient. The horrific murder of innocent lives in such a manner is intolerable; no faith endorses this. An investigation is underway, and all perpetrators must face justice.”
He further noted that regarding every citizen of J&K with doubt obstructs individuals from remaining on the right track. He reiterated that not every person in Jammu and Kashmir is a terrorist or has ties to terrorist groups.
"Only a handful of individuals have consistently sought to disturb harmony and camaraderie here," he added.
"Regrettably, when we begin to view every individual in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly every Kashmiri Muslim, with suspicion and depict them as terrorists, it becomes exceedingly difficult to guide people on the right path," he explained.
He stated that those accountable for this incident should face severe punishment, while innocent individuals must be excluded from this blame.
The UT Chief Minister also pointed out that on several occasions, educated individuals have been found involved in such acts, but innocent people should remain unaffected.
It is worth recalling that following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and a local pony owner by Pakistan-backed foreign terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group, Omar Abdullah remarked that Kashmiris should not be punished for the terrorist actions of foreign operatives.
The recent discovery of a terror network involving Kashmiri doctors has undoubtedly placed Omar Abdullah in a challenging position, as he has been diligently working towards revitalizing tourism in Kashmir and safeguarding the local economy by promoting business, travel, and engagement between people from various regions and the residents of Kashmir.
