Los Angeles, Oct 5 (NationPress) Actress Lily James has shared her distinctive ritual for achieving focus, where she crafts unique scents for every character she embodies, as it helps her to concentrate.
The 36-year-old actress revealed in the latest issue of Britain's HELLO! magazine: "Each day, as I prepare, I spray a scent, and it instantly transports me and sharpens my focus.
"Scent is incredibly alluring. I often use pre-made scents, or I mix my own concoction," she elaborated.
The star portrays Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder and CEO of a dating app, in the biopic Swiped, and James expressed that there is heightened pressure in portraying a real individual compared to a fictional character, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
James explained: "When depicting a real person, your primary goal is to honor their legacy.
"Considering whether you have the right to narrate someone else's story is a profound dilemma that weighs heavily on my mind.
Although she didn't meet Whitney, 36, prior to her role in Swiped, the actress dedicated herself to researching extensively about Whitney to accurately represent her.
She stated: "I viewed numerous interviews with her, read extensively, and absorbed any resources I could to understand her. What I discovered was a vibrant spirit and energy that's truly compelling."
The actress, who recently admitted to feeling "guilty" and a "bit of a fraud" for starring in Swiped since she has never utilized a dating app, believes it's vital to share Whitney's narrative.
She said: "Her true story is one of triumph and establishing a legacy.
"Many films have focused on male entrepreneurs of major enterprises, but fewer highlight female narratives. Whitney is a beacon of inspiration, and her journey is filled with hope and bravery."
