New Delhi, July 27 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the vital importance of logistics in the triumph of the nation’s recent military operation, Operation Sindoor. During a virtual address at the convocation of Gati Shakti University in Vadodara, Singh attributed the transformation of India's defence readiness and logistics framework to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and initiatives such as PM Gati Shakti.
In his keynote speech, he noted that the landscape of warfare has dramatically changed; modern conflicts are no longer solely reliant on weaponry but hinge on effective logistics and timely operations.
Referencing Operation Sindoor as a key illustration, he highlighted the seamless collaboration among various defence and intelligence agencies that facilitated rapid mobilization, real-time coordination, and the prompt supply of essential equipment to troops stationed across different sectors.
“The tactics of warfare have evolved. Operation Sindoor exemplifies how multiple agencies coordinated effectively and managed logistics—ranging from force mobilization to timely equipping of our troops in various locations. This was a pivotal factor in the success of Operation Sindoor,” he explained.
He further pointed out that logistics extends beyond the military, serving as a national asset across all sectors—from disaster management to supply chains. “Logistics is the mechanism that links every phase from production to consumption. For instance, if a product manufactured in the North-East reaches Delhi or Mumbai punctually, it signifies the efficiency of our logistics system,” he remarked.
Praising PM Modi’s Gati Shakti Yojna and the establishment of integrated logistics corridors through rail, road, air, and waterways, he asserted that this comprehensive approach is establishing the groundwork for a secure and self-sufficient India. Rajnath Singh, who sees himself as a teacher at heart, also stressed the significance of education in nation-building.
“The most significant step in nation-building is through education. It’s gratifying to engage with the youth—you are the true strength of our country,” he told the graduating class.
