During the session, the Chief Minister unveiled the official poster and launched an information booklet created for Mahaparinirvan Din.
Mahaparinirvan Din is a momentous occasion commemorating the death anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar, who is recognized as the principal architect of the Constitution of India, a prominent social reformer, and a revivalist of Buddhism.
Mahaparinirvana is a term from Sanskrit that signifies the departure of a fully enlightened being (like a Buddha or an Arhat) from the physical realm.
Ambedkar adopted Buddhism in 1956 shortly before his demise.
On this day, millions, especially his followers, assemble at Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai, the site of his cremation, to pay their tributes.
