Beed/Nashik, Sep 25 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar emphasized on Thursday the need for the administration to guarantee that the relief efforts initiated by the government reach every single individual impacted by the floods, ensuring that no farmer is overlooked.
He further mentioned that the administration has been directed to enact necessary precautions, prioritizing the safety of those affected by the floods. Ajit Pawar toured various villages in the Beed district, engaging directly with farmers and villagers who have faced severe challenges due to the relentless rains and flooding.
“We are advancing with the principles of Shiv-Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar. Our government is dedicated to making sure that support is accessible to all, regardless of caste or creed. We will meet the educational needs of students impacted by the disaster. I assured the community that we are committed to assisting them in rebuilding their lives,” he communicated to the farmers and villagers.
“We are present here with you. Do not feel isolated or lose hope. Remain optimistic. Together, we will restore everything and tackle all your challenges,” Ajit Pawar reassured the farmers and villagers who shared their devastating losses caused by the unyielding rain and floods.
“Our government is diligently working to address the concerns of the flood-affected population. Officials have been instructed to carry out assessments of the damages in the villages and provide prompt financial assistance,” he stated.
“I personally surveyed the collapsed bridge, the agricultural damage, and another bridge that had been washed away. With the safety of farmers and citizens as a priority, I ordered the administration to commence relief operations immediately. Additionally, I spoke with mothers and sisters, empathizing with their pain and struggles. We are prepared to address every issue and deliver necessary aid swiftly,” he remarked.
“During my visit, I spoke with the villagers to check on their well-being and that of their families. I instilled a sense of confidence that the government will stand firmly with them. While we are enduring a crisis, I expressed that we will overcome this challenge collectively,” he added.
On a related note, NCP minister Chhagan Bhujbal also visited the rain and flood-affected villages in the Nashik district, promising government support to navigate through the current crisis.
“Farmers have faced significant losses due to the heavy rainfall. Crops such as onions, maize, and soybeans have been severely damaged. The farmers are in distress. The state has experienced a natural disaster. We are committed to providing as much support as we can to the farmers. Additionally, tomatoes and vegetables have also suffered losses in certain areas. Despite the low rainfall in Yeola taluka this year, fields have accumulated three to four feet of water. Various issues have arisen in many locations. However, the government is resolutely backing the farmers,” Bhujbal stated.
“In certain areas, land erosion has occurred, and vineyards have been destroyed. It may take three to four years to restore the vineyards. In places where food grains have been damaged, ten kilos of rice are being distributed. There is a risk of disease outbreaks due to excess water in some locations. The health authorities have been alerted to take necessary precautions,” he added.
