New Delhi, Aug 30 (NationPress) BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh criticized Mahua Moitra's comments directed at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, delivering a fierce denunciation of Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, branding her a 'Modern Jinnah' for allegedly cultivating a climate of hatred and chaos.
In an interview with IANS, Chugh stated, “Moitra’s remarks tarnish democratic politics; this poisonous language disrespects both the people of Bengal and the nation.”
“Such violent threats toward BJP leaders illustrate the desperation, frustration, and anarchistic mentality of the INDIA Bloc. As 'Modern Jinnah', Mamata Banerjee must clarify whether her party supports democratic discourse or merely promotes toxic and violent rhetoric,” he continued.
Moitra had accused the Union Home Minister on Thursday of failing to curb infiltration from Bangladesh, making a now widely condemned comment that his “head should be cut off and put on the table.”
These comments were made while addressing reporters in Nadia district.
In a separate statement, Chugh also criticized Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for his ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar, deeming it a “Ghuspethiya Bachao Yatra (save infiltrators),” which he claimed aims to appease infiltrators instead of safeguarding democratic rights.
“Rahul Gandhi's so-called 'Vote Bachao Yatra' is actually a 'Ghuspethiya Bachao Yatra,' undermining national security and integrity,” Chugh asserted.
“The BJP’s position is unequivocal: Infiltrators cannot remain in the country under any circumstances. Prime Minister Modi’s administration is committed to dismantling the toxic network of infiltrators to protect the nation and ensure a safe future for marginalized communities,” he added.
The ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra,' initiated by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, is gaining political traction as leaders from various opposition parties join the roadshow in Bihar, which commenced on August 17.
