The victim, Shalini (40), lost her life at her mother’s home in Charuvila.
She had been residing there for a duration due to purported mistreatment by her husband, Isaac.
Shalini, who worked as a caretaker in a nearby school, was getting ready to leave for work when Isaac stormed in and assaulted her with a sharp object.
At the time, one of their two children was present in the house.
