Agartala, Feb 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, has stated that the Union Budget 2026-27 prioritizes the aim of enhancing the income of every family, while also working to elevate the socio-economic status of the populace. This budget clearly mirrors Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a Viksit Bharat by the year 2047.

During a press conference held at the state BJP headquarters on Monday, Chief Minister Saha noted that the Prime Minister’s welfare-driven approach is evident throughout the budget unveiled by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday.

He emphasized that significant attention has been directed towards infrastructure development, particularly within the education sector, with a strong focus on delivering quality education.

The Chief Minister explained that the purpose of the press conference was to inform the citizens of Tripura about the essential features of the Union Budget through media dissemination.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered the Union Budget for the 2026–27 financial year, marking her ninth budget presentation and the 80th budget in the history of Parliament. The duration of her budget speech was approximately one hour and 25 minutes, and the Chief Minister expressed that he was “very happy” with the budget.

Chief Minister Saha remarked that the budget offers a clear insight into the Prime Minister’s roadmap for a developed India by 2047. He extended his gratitude to both Prime Minister Modi and the Finance Minister for introducing a future-focused budget centered around economic advancement and social progress.

He highlighted that the budget places a premium on infrastructure development and capital expenditure aimed at enhancing future connectivity, logistics, and urban growth.

The Finance Minister has declared that India’s economy is now robust, and this strength is propelling the nation forward. The Prime Minister’s ambition of transforming India into a developed nation is distinctly evident in the budget, he remarked.

Chief Minister Saha pointed out that the budget is structured around the Prime Minister’s four critical focus groups: youth, farmers, the poor, and women.

He noted that farmers have been prioritized to secure fair prices for their produce while simultaneously bolstering agricultural infrastructure. Health services have also been prioritized to ensure affordable healthcare for all, with an emphasis on mental health and trauma care.

While underscoring the emphasis on education, the Chief Minister mentioned that quality infrastructure development has been prioritized across schools, colleges, technical institutions, and other educational facilities.

Additionally, he stated that the budget encompasses significant initiatives aimed at improving road, railway, aviation, and waterway infrastructure, youth skill development programs, the promotion of renewable energy, pollution mitigation, tax benefits for the middle class, taxpayer-friendly reforms, and substantial funding to fortify the defense sector.

Chief Minister Saha concluded by stating that the budget is built on three foundational pillars: the development of marginalized communities, infrastructure growth, and the philosophy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”, alongside a focus on six key areas.
