Chandrababu Naidu: Correcting the Past Government's Errors
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Amaravati, March 9 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, asserted on Monday that the current coalition government is in the process of rectifying the errors made by the previous administration.
He charged the YSR Congress Party with disrupting the revenue department during its tenure.
Speaking at a public gathering after handing out 'pattadar' passbooks to farmers in Kotha Buruju village, Nandyal district, he claimed that the leaders from the former government attempted to seize the land of farmers and the underprivileged through the Land Titling Act.
Naidu stated that the earlier administration had included 1.95 crore acres on the prohibited list under Section 22A of the Registration Act for motives of political revenge and illicit land grabs.
“Upon taking office, we promptly abolished the Land Titling Act. We are committed to rectifying the inaccuracies in land records,” he emphasized.
Chandrababu Naidu mentioned that the prior government had their own images printed on pattadar passbooks, even going so far as to place pictures on survey stones, costing the state a whopping Rs 750 crore.
“It took us 20 months to correct one of their errors. We are now measuring land in the presence of farmers and issuing books containing land specifics with their consent,” he explained.
He asserted that the newly issued pattadar passbooks by the coalition government ensure that land records are tamper-proof. “We have implemented a QR code system. Any tampering with records will be detected. Even errors made by MROs and VROs will be traceable via blockchain technology,” he noted.
The Chief Minister claimed that the issuance of new pattadar passbooks is free from corruption.
He revealed that during the previous government’s tenure, surveys were conducted in only 6,860 out of 16,816 villages, resulting in the distribution of 19.93 lakh passbooks that contained altered records.
CM Naidu reaffirmed that Rayalaseema will be developed into a horticulture hub, with the Centre providing Rs 30,000 crore under the Purvodaya initiative.
He further accused the YSR Congress of attempting to tarnish the sacred reputation of the Tirupati laddu through adulteration and spreading misinformation about the CBI report concerning the laddu controversy.
Chandrababu Naidu declared he would not stand for any actions that would defile Lord Venkateswara.
He claimed that the state is drawing significant investments, reiterating plans for a drone city in Kurnool and an aerospace city in Anantapur.
He alleged that the previous administration hiked electricity fees eight times, imposing a burden of Rs 32,000 crore on the public, assuring citizens that the coalition government would not increase these charges.
