New Delhi, March 20 (NationPress) Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu engaged with Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi at the Lok Niwas in northern Delhi on Friday, according to an official report.

During their discussion, they informally covered topics such as governance, defense, and diplomacy, as noted by an official spokesperson.

“It was a pleasure to meet Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff @indiannavy, at Lok Niwas,” the LG shared on social media.

Admiral Tripathi gifted Sandhu a model ship along with a ceremonial memento from the Indian Navy, showcasing the crest of the Chief of Naval Staff. This ceremonial gift is traditionally presented by the highest-ranking officer of the Indian Navy during official visits or to honor distinguished service.

Earlier that day, Sandhu had an audience with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussing his vision for “Viksit Dilli@2047,” stated an official.

Sandhu met with the PM in his office, where he briefed him on his experiences at Lok Niwas and outlined steps aimed at fulfilling PM Modi’s vision for a developed Delhi by 2047, according to a source familiar with the meeting.

On social media platform X, Sandhu remarked, “Called on Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji earlier today.”

On March 13, Sandhu also met with President Droupadi Murmu to discuss pressing issues concerning the National Capital.

Sharing on X, Sandhu expressed, “Honoured to call on Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji and receive her guidance for the road ahead. Grateful for her encouragement.”

Previously, the LG shared his experience of enjoying the spring blooms in Amrit Udyan located within the premises of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Posting a photograph taken in the renowned gardens, he wrote, “A lovely walk through the famed gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan this forenoon. Nice to meet many Dilliwalas enjoying the spring blooms.”

Sandhu, who assumed office as the new L-G of Delhi on March 11, also engaged in discussions with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her Cabinet colleagues earlier this week.

Development and security matters were on the agenda during these meetings with officials. The Lok Niwas shared on social media: 'The Chief Minister, GNCT of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, accompanied by her Cabinet colleagues, met Delhi L-G Taranjit Singh Sandhu. They apprised the L-G of ongoing initiatives towards building a #ViksitDilli.'
