New Delhi, April 15 (NationPress) In a remarkable demonstration of operational readiness and dedication to public safety, the 5th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) executed an extensive monsoon and disaster preparedness drill across numerous regions in Maharashtra on Tuesday.

The initiative, which involved 12 specialized teams, aimed to evaluate and improve the battalion’s capability to handle a variety of emergencies, including floods, landslides, earthquakes, and chemical incidents, particularly with the impending monsoon season.

The drills occurred concurrently in various strategic sites, such as Badlapur in Mumbai, Kondhali Dam in Nagpur, Boisar in Palghar, and several crucial areas within Pune district, including Bhushi Dam, Pawna Lake, Ashkhed Dam, Ranjangaon MIDC, Kolawade Village, Lonavala Tiger Point, and Andra Dam.

Each exercise simulated actual disaster scenarios to evaluate the operational efficiency, coordination, and response time of the teams under intense conditions.

The activities included intricate rescue operations, swift evacuation tactics, and management of chemical emergencies while donning full protective gear.
