Key Takeaways
Patna, Dec 31 (NationPress) Following the landslide victory of the NDA in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, calls within the Janata Dal (United) have intensified, urging the involvement of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, in active politics.
On Wednesday, notable posters appeared across Patna, advocating for Nishant Kumar's official political debut and suggesting that the leadership of JD(U) be transitioned to him.
The posters were initiated by Krishna Patel, the Vice President of the JD(U) student wing.
One side of the poster showcases a picture of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while the other features Nishant Kumar, alongside a Hindi slogan that states: "Chacha ji ke haathon mein surakshit apna Bihar… Ab party ke agle generation ka bhavishya sanware bhai Nishant Kumar. Naye saal aur Makar Sankranti ki shubhkamnayein (Bihar is safe in Chacha ji's hands… Now it's time for brother Nishant Kumar to shape the party’s next generation. New Year and Makar Sankranti greetings)."
Krishna Patel mentioned that the poster embodies the aspirations of party workers who believe that Nishant Kumar should assume an active political role and gradually take on responsibilities within the party.
In recent months, especially after the 2025 Assembly elections, the demand within JD(U) for Nishant Kumar's entry into politics has escalated.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, members of the Mukund Sena, an organization associated with JD(U), initiated a 12-hour hunger strike at the Gardanibagh protest area in Patna to advocate for the same cause.
The demonstrators expressed their desire to see Nishant Kumar enter politics at any cost, asserting that he is well-educated, capable, and has a visionary outlook, arguing that his leadership could steer the Janata Dal (United) towards a promising future.
Referring to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as their protector, the Mukund Sena members urged him to assign an active political role to his son.
They warned that if their demands are not met, they will amplify their protests.
The next stage of their agitation will involve a 24-hour hunger strike, which is set to take place at JP Golambar under the statue of Jayaprakash Narayan.
The protesters emphasized that party workers are united on this matter and that the movement to bring Nishant Kumar into active politics will persist until their demands are addressed.
