Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 13 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the new facility named ‘Seva Teerth’, which accommodates the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), and the Cabinet Secretariat.
During the unveiling of this remarkable structure, the Prime Minister was joined by several Union Ministers, including MoS in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, and other notable dignitaries.
This event signifies a crucial milestone, marking the formal shift from the previous PMO office located at South Block to ‘Seva Teerth’, the new modern complex situated on Kartavya Path, formerly known as Rajpath.
The new PMO office is located approximately one kilometer away from the renowned South Block building on Raisina Hill, and it will act as a pivotal hub for governance, facilitating proximity among various administrative resources.
In the evening, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Kartavya Bhawan complex - 1 & 2, which will host several high-profile ministries, including Finance, Defence, Health & Family Welfare, Education, and others.
For many years, numerous ministries have operated from outdated and dispersed buildings across the Central Vista, leading to logistical challenges and coordination difficulties.
The inauguration of these new complexes aims to address these long-standing issues by merging them into a cohesive, modern, and digitally-enabled infrastructure.
Officials indicate that the new complexes include digitally integrated offices, organized public interface zones, and centralized reception areas. These features will enhance collaboration, efficiency, seamless governance, improved citizen interaction, and overall employee well-being.
Constructed to meet 4-Star GRIHA standards, the complexes are equipped with renewable energy systems, water conservation strategies, waste management solutions, and high-performance building envelopes.
“These initiatives significantly lessen environmental impact while boosting operational efficiency,” stated an official.
The complexes also boast comprehensive safety and security measures, such as smart access control systems, surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a secure and accessible space for both officials and visitors,” an official statement noted.
The inauguration is a transformative step in India’s administrative governance landscape and embodies the Prime Minister’s dedication to creating a modern, efficient, accessible, and citizen-focused governance framework.
