New Delhi, Feb 13 (NationPress) The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is preparing to shift from its historical British-era building in South Block to the newly built 'Seva Teerth' at Kartavya Path this Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to officially inaugurate the complex, which includes both Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2.

This inauguration represents a significant transformation in India's governance structure, as Seva Teerth will accommodate the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat.

Inside the Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2, a variety of high-profile ministries will function, including the Ministry of Finance, Defence, Health & Family Welfare, and Education.

Officials have indicated that PM Modi will unveil the name of the building complex at around 1:30 p.m. and will formally inaugurate both Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2, concluding with a public address around 6 p.m.

This new complex symbolizes Modi’s commitment to establishing a modern, efficient, accessible, and citizen-focused governance framework. Both complexes feature digitally integrated offices, structured public interaction areas, and centralized reception facilities.

These attributes are designed to promote collaboration, efficiency, seamless governance, and improved citizen engagement, along with enhanced employee well-being.

Constructed to meet 4-Star GRIHA standards, the complexes integrate renewable energy solutions, water conservation initiatives, waste management strategies, and high-performance building envelopes.

According to official statements, “These initiatives greatly minimize environmental impact while boosting operational efficiency. The complexes also include robust safety and security frameworks, such as smart access control systems, surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a secure and accessible environment for officials and visitors.”

The state-of-the-art facility located in the Central Vista area is equipped with future-ready amenities, providing a modern working environment that was previously lacking in South Block.

Several prominent ministries are situated in Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2, including the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Law & Justice, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
