New Delhi, Feb 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi received an official ceremonial welcome at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya during his trip to Malaysia, emphasizing the robust and lasting connections between the two nations.

This momentous occasion was detailed by Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, who conveyed insights regarding the ceremonial welcome and its broader implications via a post on X.

“Strengthening the lasting connections that unite India and Malaysia! PM @narendramodi was welcomed ceremonially at Perdana Putra during his official visit to Malaysia. India and Malaysia share deep ties rooted in civilizational, historical, and people-to-people connections. Further discussions aimed at reinforcing our lasting friendship and solid bilateral relations will follow,” Jaiswal remarked.

This ceremonial reception marked the official start of Prime Minister Modi’s engagements in Malaysia and illustrated the significance both countries place on their bilateral relationship.

India and Malaysia share profound historical connections shaped by centuries-old ties, cultural exchanges, and the strong presence of the Indian diaspora in Malaysia.

PM Modi also shared moments from his ceremonial welcome at Perdana Putra, underscoring the increasing warmth in India–Malaysia relations.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister stated, “Highlights from the ceremonial welcome at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya. India and Malaysia are deepening a partnership built on trust, camaraderie, and shared dreams.”

This message set the tone for his two-day visit to Malaysia, characterized by high-level discussions, cultural exchanges, and engagement with the Indian diaspora.

Previously, PM Modi emphasized the cultural ties between the two nations, especially the influence of the Tamil community in Malaysia. He shared, “A group of students from the Malaysia Hindu Sangam performed Tirumurai devotional songs. It is impressive to see how the Tamil community in Malaysia has preserved and promoted their heritage over the years.” This gesture highlighted the deep civilizational and people-to-people bonds that underpin bilateral relations.

Demonstrating a warm personal rapport, the Prime Minister was seen sharing a car ride with his Malaysian counterpart, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, as they traveled to a community event in Kuala Lumpur.
