Kuala Lumpur, Feb 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently shared highlights from his ceremonial reception at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya, emphasizing the increasing warmth in the relationship between India and Malaysia.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister stated, “Here are some moments from the ceremonial welcome at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya. India and Malaysia are continuously strengthening a partnership founded on trust, friendship, and common aspirations.”

This message set the stage for his two-day visit to Malaysia, which included high-level discussions, cultural exchanges, and outreach to the Indian community.

Previously, Prime Minister Modi noted the cultural ties that bind the two nations, especially the significant influence of the Tamil community in Malaysia. He shared another post highlighting, “Students from the Malaysia Hindu Sangam performed Tirumurai devotional songs. It is remarkable how the Tamil community in Malaysia has maintained and promoted their heritage throughout the years.” This gesture illustrated the profound civilizational and interpersonal connections that continue to support bilateral relations.

During his visit, the Prime Minister announced the forthcoming opening of an Indian Consulate in Malaysia, a step anticipated to enhance diplomatic relations and improve services for the Indian populace in the country. This announcement came after he attended a grand Indian community reception titled ‘Selamat Datang Modiji’ in Kuala Lumpur.

The event showcased a spectacular cultural display, featuring 800 artists performing traditional Indian dances on stage, a record-breaking achievement that was recognized in the Malaysian Book of Records as the largest such performance in the nation. The program emphasized the richness of Indian culture and the lasting connection of the Indian diaspora with their heritage.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the colorful welcome and thanked Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his kind presence and remarks. He commended the Indian diaspora for their significant contributions to Malaysia's advancement and acknowledged their role in fortifying the friendship between the two countries.
