Radio Jockey Found Dead in Gurugram: Investigation Underway

Gurugram, Dec 26 (NationPress) Simran Singh, a well-known freelance radio jockey (RJ) from Jammu and Kashmir, has reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her rented place in Sector-47, Gurugram, police officials stated.
The lifeless body of the 25-year-old RJ was discovered hanging in her room on Wednesday night, as per the police report, which indicated that no suicide note was present at the scene.
Sunil Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Sadar police station in Gurugram, informed IANS that the autopsy report confirmed her death was a result of suicide.
According to Kumar, a friend named Himanshu was the first to notify the police about the tragic incident. Simran lived in separate rooms with four to five friends at the same accommodation, and she took her life by hanging in her room.
Kumar further mentioned that her family expressed no suspicion regarding anyone's involvement in her death and indicated that she had been battling depression.
The RJ's family did not lodge any complaints concerning the incident. We have recorded their statements and returned her body to the family on Thursday, Kumar added.
Simran Singh had a significant following on Instagram, with nearly 700,000 followers. Her last post was a reel shared on December 13.
Authorities noted that a young man residing with Simran was the one who alerted the police about the incident late Wednesday night.
The police quickly responded to the scene and transported her to Park Hospital in Gurugram, where she was pronounced dead by medical staff.
After conducting the post-mortem, police returned her body to her family on Thursday.
Reports suggest that Simran's family has rejected any suicide angle in her death.
Originally from the Jammu region, she was affectionately referred to by her fans as 'Jammu Ki Dhadkan' (Heartbeat of Jammu).
In her last Instagram reel posted on December 13, she described herself as "Just a girl with endless giggles and her gown, taking over the beach."
The shocking news of her untimely demise has left her followers in disbelief, with many expressing grief on her final Instagram post.
"We are examining the circumstances surrounding her death. The body has been transferred to her family post-autopsy. Ongoing investigations are in progress," stated Varun Dahiya, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime).
The inquiry into her death continues, and authorities have yet to confirm any foul play.
