New Delhi, April 4 (NationPress) Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Friday aimed to emphasize his dedication to go beyond the norm in protecting the economic interests of the nation. He shared a video clip on social media showcasing a light-hearted dialogue with Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, captioning it “Yes, I am obsessed”.
The post on X refers to an incident that occurred during question hour on Thursday when Chadha started discussing an issue concerning US billionaire Elon Musk and his satellite internet company Starlink.
As the MP from Punjab began his remarks to provide context, he recounted Musk’s actions in Ukraine, receiving playful nudges from the Chairman regarding his so-called obsession with what others are doing.
The Chairman also suggested that he focus on something more “Indianised”.
In response, Chadha stated, “Sir, I am obsessed with anything that harms Indian interests, particularly economic ones. This is why I am here, and I will continue to passionately address any issue that impacts my country.”
Chadha further asserted, “Sir, you must understand that my question exclusively concerns India,” while underscoring the alleged non-cooperation of Starlink with Indian security agencies.
He pointed out an alleged misuse of the Starlink navigation satellite by a drug syndicate based in Myanmar, revealed during a bust in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, adding that Starlink refused to share details citing privacy concerns.
“Considering Starlink’s refusal to provide crucial data to Indian authorities due to data privacy laws, how does the Government of India intend to address such resistance from Elon Musk’s Starlink regarding data sharing and potential misuse?” he questioned.
In his follow-up question, Chadha also brought up the issue of reciprocal tariffs imposed on India by the US, stating, “We have shown unwavering loyalty, yet the Trump Administration has imposed the Trump Tariff, which could devastate the Indian economy.”
To protect Indian interests, he proposed, “Shouldn’t the Indian government consider withholding the necessary approvals for Elon Musk’s Starlink to leverage it as a bargaining tool in renegotiating the Trump Tariffs?”
