Jaipur, Jan 12 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Tourism Department is set to host the Kite Festival 2026 on January 14, offering a spectacular blend of folk culture, kite flying, lantern displays, and fireworks. This festive occasion aims to enhance Rajasthan’s vibrant cultural heritage while elevating its profile within global tourism.

Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyad announced that both Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari will grace the event, adding significant prestige to the festival and showcasing the government’s dedication to promoting the state’s cultural and tourism initiatives on an international scale.

Riyad emphasized that this festival, celebrated for over twenty years, has transformed from a local tradition into a premier event that symbolizes Rajasthan's commitment to event-based tourism.

Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Upendra Singh Shekhawat, noted that the one-day festival will unfold on January 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the scenic Jal Mahal embankment on Amer Road, Jaipur. Attendees can look forward to a breathtaking view of colorful kites against the historic backdrop of Jal Mahal, the serene lake, and the expansive sky, promising an unforgettable experience for all.

The event will include cultural performances by local artists, a kite exhibition, live kite-making sessions, and thrilling displays of fancy kite flying.

To enhance the experience for visitors, several attractions will be featured, such as complimentary traditional cuisine, free kites for international guests, and camel-cart rides.

Shekhawat mentioned that the festival will continue into the evening, commencing at 6:30 pm with the Lantern Festival, where lanterns will be released into the night sky, culminating in a dazzling fireworks display near the iconic Hawa Mahal. This vibrant spectacle will illuminate the Pink City skyline, marking the grand conclusion of the Kite Festival.

The Kite Festival 2026 sends a strong message that Rajasthan is not just a place to visit, but an experience to embrace, with skies filled with kites during the day and illuminated historic structures at night, celebrating life.
